Writers platform: Blogger or Medium?

Do you know your writers spaces? You have a lot of choices: Blogger, WordPress, Medium, Tumblr, GitHub, Wattpad etc. Where would you go to place your words online? I’ve just answered this question on Quora:

What’s the difference between Blogger and Medium?

Essentially nothing; both allow you to write an article and put it online, however, Blogger was built 15 years ago, attempts to be a website, does it very badly.

Medium was built 3 years ago and aims to raise the standard of writing on the web by focusing on the writing and the audience only.

If I was a writer starting out today, I would begin on Medium, then if I developed an audience there and wanted to harness that engagement under my own brand, I’d move to WordPress. I don’t see any use for Blogger today.
